These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of 42step.com and the content and services we make available through it. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
“42Step”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean 42Step, a software company building products for developing markets. “You” means the person using the site.
02What this site is
42step.com is an informational website about our company and the products we build. Nothing on it is an offer, a warranty, or professional advice, and product descriptions may change as those products develop.
Our individual apps and services have their own terms. Where a product has its own terms, those govern your use of that product and these Terms continue to govern your use of this website.
03Using the site
You may view, browse, and share this site for your own personal or business purposes. In return, you agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or to harm anyone;
- interfere with the site or the servers behind it, including through automated traffic that degrades service for others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, or data;
- copy, republish, or resell substantial parts of the site as your own offering;
- impersonate 42Step or misrepresent your relationship with us;
- remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other notice.
04Our content and marks
The site’s design, text, graphics, code, and the 42Step name, logo, and marks belong to 42Step or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Using the site doesn’t transfer any of those rights to you. Any use of our name or logo beyond ordinary reference to us needs our written permission.
05Anything you send us
We like hearing from people, and you’re welcome to send us questions, feedback, or ideas. If you do, you give us permission to use that feedback to improve our products without any obligation, payment, or confidentiality on our part — so please don’t send us anything you consider confidential or proprietary.
You are responsible for what you send, and it must not be unlawful or infringe anyone else’s rights.
06Third-party links and services
The site may link to services we don’t control. We provide those links for convenience and don’t endorse or take responsibility for what’s on the other side. Your dealings with a third party are between you and them, under their terms.
07Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of this site at any time, with or without notice. We don’t promise the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may restrict access to anyone who breaches these Terms.

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranties to be excluded, in which case this section applies to the fullest extent the law permits.
09Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 42Step and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of this site — even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10Indemnity
You agree to indemnify 42Step against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
11Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it. In short: we collect very little, we never sell your data, and we don’t share it with third parties for advertising or profiling.
12Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of Tanzania have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you use the site from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with your own local law, and any mandatory consumer protections you have at home continue to apply.
Before going to court, please email us — most things are quicker to settle in a conversation.
13General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms, are the entire agreement between us regarding this site.
14Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and continued use of the site after that means you accept the updated Terms.
